Sandwell Valley Farm and Forge Mill Farms.

Sandwell Park Farm is a a fully restored 18th century farm which was constructed to supply food throughout the year to the Earls of Dartmouth's estate and Sandwell Hall. A variety of lovestock housed within the central courtyard and adjoining pasture are the actual breeds that would have been kept on the farm at the turn of the century.

The Victorian Kitchen Garden demonstrates the techniques used to supply vegetables and fresh fruit to Sandwell Hall. The farm also contains collection of old agricultural machinery and displays illustrating human activity in Sandwell Valley from pre-historic times. The buildings date back to 1705. Now a visitor centre the Sandwell Park Farm illustrates farm life and a historical account of the history of the area. This is a wonderful day out for children and families with plenty of open space to tire out the kiddies.

Main features of the centre are its walled kitchen garden, produce of which is sold in the shop, a blacksmiths shop, wheelwrights shop and a schoolroom. A variety of events and demonstrations take place throughout the year which include craft fairs. The livestock which can be seen at the centre or in the surrounding fields include, shire horses, cows, poultry, pigs and sheep of which some are rare breeds

Forge Mill Farm is owned and run by Sandwell Metropolitan Council as a modern dairy farm and visitor centre. Meet the Jersey cows and calves, watch milking in the afternoons, feed the goats and hens or take a walk around the farm trail. There is a play area plus indoor and outdoor picnic areas.
